Bridesmaid Dresses

Bridesmaid dresses have been chosen (yay!) ...All of the girls looked great in this dress, and I'm really excited about the "sangria" color. "Satin empire ball gown with chiffon halter and ruched sash." from David's Bridal, style #81441

I just bought the basic centerpiece boxes... haha, it's funny that they are sold as "CD holders" online! They will be stained a dark brown, and lined with a wide, lime gree ribbon in the center! Now I only need to fill them! :)

It's Official - We Have the Date (and Place) Booked!

So we've signed the contract! We're getting married at St. Clement's Castle in Portland, CT on July 5, 2010. Okay, so it's on a Monday night - but the amount of $$ we save will cover more than our entire honeymoon, so it's well worth it! Also, our friends/family will have plenty of time to prepare :) The ceremony will be from 5pm to 5:30, and then the reception will be from 5:30 to 10:30pm (these times might change as we get closer to the actual date)

ABOUT ROBYN
I'm 30 years old, and a first grade teacher at Molloy Elementary School in West Haven. I have been with Todd for the last 4 years, but have known him for a total of 6 years.

ABOUT TODD
Todd is 42 years young, and works as a land surveyor in Guilford. HOW WE MET We met at a local Ian Schumacher show at Eli's Restaurant in Hamden, though mutual friends. We quickly became good friends, sharing a love of live music, social activities, and a crazy sense of adventure!

HOW IT HAPPENED
Luckily, I had the day off for Veteran's Day, and Todd took a personal day from work. We were celebrating our 3-year anniversary, and went for a hike to Third Lake in Guilford. We have visited this area often, and so I was caught COMPLETELY off-guard when he slipped a ring on my finger! At first, I was in a state of shock, and was speechless (haha, that's a first for me!). Then, after saying "of course I'll marry you!" we celebrated with a bottle of Long Flat. Later we went out for a romantic sushi dinner at Wasabi, one of our favorite Japanese restaurants.

ABOUT THE BIG DAY
I'm still gathering ideas for the wedding, and so, of course, nothing will be set in stone until closer to the date. As for right now, we know it will be outdoors, and we hope to have the Breakfast (or some form of them!) play. It will be a semi-casual affair, with tones of purples and greens.
